After passing the deadline for its Covid-19 vaccine mandate, greater than 99 % of United Airways’ U.S.-based workers have been vaccinated, based on a memo from CEO Scott Kirby and president Brett Hart to United workers.
United announced its vaccine mandate in August with the Sept. 27 deadline later decided by the U.S. Meals and Drug Administration’s full approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. Final week, the carrier reported greater than 97 % of its U.S.-based workers had been vaccinated.
“We all know for some, that call [to get vaccinated] was a reluctant one,” Kirby and Hart mentioned within the memo. “However there is no doubt in our minds that a few of you’ll have averted a future hospital keep, and even loss of life, since you bought vaccinated.”
The Sept. 27 deadline was for workers to get and add information of their first dose of a vaccine. Workers have till Oct. 31 to be absolutely vaccinated.
United is also starting the method of terminating the lower than 1 % of workers who opted to not get vaccinated, based on Kirby and Hart.
