PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — The seventh annual Freedom Run to honor the reminiscence of journalist James Foley is scheduled for Oct. 23 in Rochester New Hampshire, and nearly world wide.
The run raises cash for the work of the James W. Foley Legacy Basis, which advocates for the liberty of all People held hostage and wrongfully detained overseas and promotes the safety of journalists working in harmful areas by preventive security training.
Foley was publicly executed by Islamic State members in 2014 whereas reporting on the battle in Syria.
The Freedom Run consists of a standard 5K Run/Stroll held in Rochester, Foley’s former dwelling, and a “Digital” Run/Stroll, held globally. It seeks to boost $100,000.
Contributors can register by www.foleyrun.org as a person or a crew chief and share tales and footage about what the occasion means to them.
